Under Renovation

As every year comes to a close, people start coming up with their New Year's Resolutions. They promise to others and themselves to become better persons. Some have succeeded, some have followed the same routine, and some have sunken deeper. Nevertheless, they keep promising.

I've always been good at turning over a new leaf.
What I suck at is keeping that leaf alive.

Every year. Same promises. Same goals. Same plans.
And yeah, at the start, I see good outcomes.
Give it 3 months tops and I'm back to my old self.

Migrating.
Before it happens, you think, "It'll be a good start."
A year or so after the move, you ask, "Why is it worse?"

I just remembered, I didn't have any resolutions last year.
First New Year in a new country.
I'm guessing everything was still going well.

It's 2010. It has to be different. It should be different.
I haven't actually made any plans or set any goals yet, but I promise to work on it.

P.S. Oh great. What a good way to prepare for the first school day of the year. Not sleeping. Only 3 hours until my alarm goes off.
